Weekly Tuition

You can pay as little as $0 for your child to attend childcare programs in Vermont!

AFC accepts the Family Share assigned by the Vermont Child Care Financial Assistance Program (VT CCFAP) as full payment for AFC tuition.

Many Vermont families qualify for subsidy and then your weekly cost will only be the identified copay (with no additional charges). Depending on your family size and family income, your total family share will range from $0 weekly (for families earning up to $46,632 total annual income before taxes for a family of 3 or less) to a maximum of $425 weekly (for families earning up to $153,240 total annual income before taxes for a family of 3 or less). The maximum equates to approximately 15% of family income for all of your enrolled children. Also if you qualify for subsidy, you now only need to pay a single copay to cover all enrolled children in the child care program.

If you earn more than the maximum family income to qualify for VT CCFAP or choose not to apply for CCFAP, you will be responsible to pay full AFC tuition for each enrolled child, see below.

The Parent Child Center through NCSS is scheduling subsidy application events over the next few weeks so families do not need to complete the application alone.

We do not want the program cost to limit qualified children from attending. So we now offer a sliding scale option to help with tuition if you do not qualify for subsidy (or only qualify for partial subsidy).

Tuition Rates

If your family does not qualify for subsidy or chooses not to apply, full cost rates are listed below. Partial week/day enrollments are available. Infant & Toddler Rooms (6 weeks – entry into Preschool (at approximately 3 years old)

Weekly (5 days) - $541

Preschool* Room (3 -5 years of age, not yet enrolled in Kindergarten)

Eligible PK students can attend 10 hours per week in the mornings for FREE during the school year!
Full Time 4 days per week - $304 (eligible PK children may be able to receive a discount during the school year)

Half Day 5 days per week - $200 (eligible PK children may be able to receive a discount during the school year)

School Age Room (5-12 years of age, enrolled in grades K-5)

*Preschool age children must be enrolled in their town of residence and the local school must be informed that the child is attending AFC for Universal Preschool under Act 166. There may be an additional cost deduction for families of preschool age children during the months that school is in session to account for the 10 hours of Universal Preschool paid by your town of residence.
