There is not enough childcare to meet the needs of working families in Vermont. That is a problem for families in Alburgh and across Grand Isle County. It has been proven that access to high-quality early experiences is essential to improve short and long-term outcomes for children. Outcomes like getting ready for Kindergarten, doing well in school, graduating from high school, and experiencing success in life. Affordable child care helps parents enter and stay in the workforce, which has a direct and positive impact on our local economy. Young children who participate in high-quality early care and learning programs are more likely to be healthy, emotionally intelligent, life-long learners developing to their full potential.

The bottom line is this. Affordable access to high-quality early care and learning is a critical component in a vibrant and flourishing community. Our mission at Alburgh Family Clubhouse is to strengthen families, serve our community, and help each and every child in our community get a great start in life.

Alburgh Family Clubhouse is a grassroots, citizen-led effort to address the urgent need for local childcare and early education. Thanks to the work of the Alburgh Promise Community Steering Committee and our partners, AFC has evolved into an action-oriented collaboration to create and sustain a vital resource for our community.
